1. Unit starting battery malfunction
The battery has not been maintained for a long time, and the electrolyte water evaporates without timely replenishment. There is no configuration of a starting battery charger, and the battery's power decreases after a long period of natural discharge. Alternatively, the charger used needs to be manually recharged and float charged regularly. Due to negligence, the battery's power cannot meet the requirements. To solve this problem, in addition to configuring high-quality chargers, necessary testing and maintenance are necessary.
2. Water enters the diesel engine
During the maintenance of the generator set, it was found that water vapor in the air condenses due to temperature changes, forming water droplets that attach to the inner wall of the fuel tank and flow into the diesel, resulting in excessive water content in the diesel. This diesel enters the high-pressure oil pump of the engine and corrodes the precision coupling component - the plunger, which can seriously damage the unit. Regular maintenance can effectively prevent this.
3. Oil retention period (two years)
The engine oil is used for mechanical lubrication, and it also has a certain retention period. If stored for a long time, the physical and chemical properties of the oil will change, causing the lubrication condition of the unit to deteriorate during operation and easily causing damage to the unit parts. Therefore, the lubricating oil should be replaced regularly.
4. The replacement cycle of the three filters (diesel filter, machine filter, air filter, water filter)
The filter plays a role in filtering diesel, engine oil, or water to prevent impurities from entering the engine body. Oil and impurities are also inevitable in diesel, so the filter plays an important role in the operation of the unit. However, at the same time, these oil and impurities are deposited on the filter screen wall, which reduces the filtering ability of the filter. If they deposit too much, the oil circuit will not be smooth, and the oil engine will be shocked when running with load due to the inability to supply oil (such as lack of oxygen in humans). Therefore, during the normal use of the generator set, we recommend: firstly, replacing the three filters every 500 hours for commonly used units; Secondly, the backup unit should replace the three filters every two years;
5. Cooling system
If the water pump, water tank, and water pipeline are not cleaned for a long time, the water circulation is not smooth, the cooling effect is reduced, whether the water pipe joints are good, whether the water tank and waterway are leaking, etc. If there is a malfunction in the cooling system, the consequences include: firstly, poor cooling effect causing high water temperature in the unit and shutdown, which is most common in the Wilson unit; Secondly, if the water tank leaks and causes the water level in the tank to drop, the unit will also be unable to operate normally (to prevent water pipes from freezing when using the generator in winter, we recommend installing a water heater in the cooling system).
6. Lubrication system, seals
During the maintenance of the generator set, it was found that the chemical properties of the lubricating oil or oil ester, as well as the iron filings generated after mechanical wear, not only reduced its lubrication effect, but also accelerated the damage of the parts. At the same time, due to the corrosive effect of the lubricating oil on the rubber sealing ring, and the aging of the oil seal itself at any time, its sealing effect decreased.
7. Fuel and valve system
The output of engine power is mainly due to the combustion of fuel in the cylinder, which is sprayed through the fuel injector. This causes the carbon deposits after combustion to deposit on the fuel injector. As the deposit increases, the fuel injection amount of the fuel injector will be affected to some extent, resulting in inaccurate ignition timing of the fuel injector. The fuel injection amount of each cylinder of the engine is also uneven, and the working state is unstable. Therefore, regular cleaning of the fuel system, replacement of filter components to ensure smooth fuel supply, and adjustment of the valve system to ensure uniform ignition.
