1. Attention should be paid to using stainless steel or steel plates to manufacture the fuel tank of the backup diesel generator set. Do not spray paint or galvanize the inside of the fuel tank, as they may react chemically with diesel, producing impurities that may cause damage to the diesel generator set and reduce the quality, cleanliness, and extinguishing efficiency of the diesel.
2. The storage location of the diesel generator set fuel tank must be safe to avoid fire. The fuel tank or oil drum should be placed separately in the visible center, appropriately far away from the diesel generator set, and strict rules prohibit smoking.
3. After placing the fuel tank of the diesel generator set, the oil level should not be higher than 2.5 meters above the base of the diesel generator set. If the oil level of the large oil depot is higher than 2.5 meters, a daily fuel tank should be added between the large oil depot and the diesel generator set to ensure that the pressure of direct oil delivery is not greater than 2.5 meters. Even during the shutdown period of the diesel generator set, it is not allowed for fuel to flow into the diesel engine through the inlet or injection pipelines by gravity.
4. The resistance at the oil outlet is not allowed to exceed the standard values specified on the performance data sheet for diesel generator sets when using clean filters. This resistance value is based on the assumption that the fuel tank is filled with half of the fuel.
5. The position of the fuel supply pipe end of the fuel tank should be about 50MM higher than the bottom of the diesel generator tank to avoid accumulation and water being sucked into the fuel supply pipe.
6. The fuel tank supply and return areas of the diesel generator set should be equipped with perforated partitions to reduce thermal exchange of the diesel generator set.
7. The connection of the fuel return pipeline should not create shock waves in the fuel of the diesel generator set.
8. The fuel capacity in the fuel tank of a diesel generator set should ensure daily supply.
