Users should be aware of the factors that can cause wear and tear on the generator set to avoid excessive wear and tear.
If diesel contains sulfur or other impurities, corrosive substances such as acids will be produced during combustion, which will accelerate cylinder wear; If there are too many heavy fractions in diesel, it is easy to form carbon deposits after combustion, causing abrasive wear between the piston ring and the cylinder; The viscosity of diesel can affect the formation of the mixture and the reliability of the fuel supply equipment. For lubricating oil, viscosity and oxidation resistance are the most important, so the diesel engine of Volvo generator set should be selected and used reasonably according to the working conditions of Volvo generator set, and therefore cannot be used arbitrarily.

The experimental results show that the friction force of the diesel engine increases with the increase of speed and load. Because when the load increases, the unit pressure on the friction surface increases and the thermal conditions are poor. When the speed increases, the frictional force per unit time increases by half, but at the same power, the increase in speed is greater than the increase in load. However, too low a speed cannot guarantee good liquid lubrication conditions, which also increases wear. Therefore, for a certain diesel engine, there exists the most suitable operating speed range. In addition, when the diesel engine frequently accelerates, decelerates, stops, and starts, the frequent changes in speed and load result in poor lubrication conditions, unstable thermal state, and increased wear of the diesel engine. Especially during startup, the crankshaft speed is low, the oil pump does not supply oil in a timely manner, the refueling temperature is low, the oil viscosity is high, and it is difficult to establish liquid lubrication on the friction surface, resulting in severe wear.

The temperature used in the environment also has an impact on the wear and tear of Volvo generator sets. When the temperature is high, the engine is prone to overheating, the viscosity of the lubricating oil is low, and the wear of parts increases. When the temperature is low, the viscosity of the lubricating oil increases, making it difficult to start the diesel engine. The cooling water cannot maintain normal temperature during operation, thereby increasing the wear and corrosion of parts. When the diesel engine starts at low temperatures, the wear is more severe.

The working temperature of the generator set is one of the important factors affecting the wear and tear of diesel engines. During use, due to the limitations of the cooling system structure, changes in working load and speed, and changes in ambient temperature, the working temperature of diesel engines varies greatly. Practice has shown that the cooling water temperature is controlled at 75 ≤ 85 ℃, and the lubricating oil temperature is controlled at 75 ≤ 95 ℃.
