Diesel generator sets are like car engines. Reasonable use can reduce fuel consumption to a certain extent, which can save a lot of fuel money in the long run. So, what is a reasonable use method?
1. Reasonable use of diesel generator sets first requires that they be used within the rated power. Overloading will inevitably increase the operating burden of the diesel generator set and reduce the service life of the equipment. Not only will overloading increase fuel consumption, but each overload will also damage the diesel generator set. With the increase of usage times, fuel consumption will inevitably be higher;
2. Before using a diesel generator set, two layers of silk cloth or toilet paper can be added to the fuel tank filter of the fuel supply system to reduce impurities in the fuel and improve its combustion rate, thereby reducing fuel consumption. Alternatively, the fuel can be allowed to settle for two to four days before use;
3. Diesel generator sets usually use air and water cooling systems to cool them down during operation. However, if the temperature is too low during start-up, it can cause a decrease in oil viscosity, a reduction in equipment movement resistance, and incomplete diesel combustion. In order to achieve power generation, fuel consumption is inevitably increased. Therefore, during start-up, it is necessary to heat up or increase the temperature of the cooling water to allow the equipment body and oil to start working in an efficient temperature environment.
